Life Of Pi Blind Man

Pi is overjoyed to have a human companion and invites the frenchman onto the lifeboat calling him brother as the man boards pi s lifeboat he sets on pi to kill and eat him.

Life of pi blind man. At the end of life of pi pi tells the japanese officials that they would believe in the man eating island if they had seen it and thus ties belief to sight. The blind frenchman does highlight pi s madness and the depravity of cannibalism which if we must remind you your dear pi commits. He complicates the allegory and perhaps represents the evil that richard parker through his own violence dispatches.

Pi regains his eyesight and observes the carnage. He is disturbed but practical. The man climbs aboard pi s boat in order to kill and cannibalize him.

Perhaps it s a good thing richard parker gets rid of this frenchman quickly. The voice grows weak and pi urges it to come back. When pi meets a fellow blind man pi first thinks he is talking to richard parker as they discuss food.

Pi s blindness is symbolic in many ways in the episode with the frenchman. Pi asks the voice if he has ever killed anyone and the voice says yes a man and a woman. Pi projects the characteristics of the cook onto his vision.

At the last minute the man is killed by richard parker. Richard parker answers back with a man and a woman martel 311. Since pi is blind he attributes this voice to richard parker but then realizes it is another man s voice.
